Sunday Funday

Some time ago, the Upstate SORBA, which basically is an organization that represents the voice of the local mountain biking community here in Upstate SC, built a small pump track in Travelers Rest, SC in Gateway Park where people could come hone their riding skills. I heard about the pump track some time ago and rode my bike out to check it out. I definitely had a good time riding the pump track, but couldn’t help leaving wishing there would have been a little something extra to ride given the amount of space that was available in the park. Well, fast-forward several months and somehow I heard someone talking about some new trails in Travelers Rest, so I decided to take a Sunday Cruise into the area. Much to my surprise, there are now several new sections of trails to play on for all different skill levels. There was a great mix of age groups riding around enjoying the newly built Skills Park. I snapped a few pictures of one of the main lines that I spent most of my time on. Looking forward to my next visit. Get out and ride something!

New Store Sign

We finally got around to putting up a new sign on our storefront a couple weeks ago. We played around with several ideas, but we decided that we still really like the hand painted look, so we stayed with the wooden sign motif and got to work. Here are a few pics of the sign being made and going up on the Beautiful Demise storefront. Stop by and grab a few tees at our World Headquarters located at 215 W. Antrim Dr, Greenville SC, 29607.

Antrim Collection

Beautiful Demise is pleased to announce the release of their first seasonal collection entitled the “Antrim” collection. Just to clarify for those that might not know, “Antrim” just so happens to be the name of the street where the Beautiful Demise Word Headquarters resides. We thought that it was a fitting name for our first collection release considering how much time we’ve spent developing the brand in our shop on Antrim Drive. We were really hoping that we would have our handmade denim line ready by this time, but as most things worth a damn in life, we’ll have to wait a bit longer until we can iron out a few more details that just aren’t quite up to snuff just yet. Don’t worry though, in the mean time, take a few minutes to peruse the “Antrim” Collection in our online shop. Remember, all our regular tees are still available in the online shop, simply click show all or search by category in the shop submenu. We hope everyone enjoys the new gear. As always, all Beautiful Demise clothing is lovingly crafted by us with our own 2 hands in our print shop located in Greenville, SC. All our shirts are made in the USA and ridiculously comfy. Stop by the shop if you’re in the area. You can find us 215 W. Antrim Dr. Unit A, Greenville, SC 29607.

Out the Door

Well, I guess the Mayans were wrong with the whole end of the world prediction, but I guess that works out for the rest of us. Personally, I’m pretty stoked that the world didn’t meet its demise by some cataclysmic end of days revelation. I’m sure the world will reset in due time like it has numerous times before, but until then, we here at Beautiful Demise are going to keep chugging along and continue to work on crafting quality handmade clothing. Each year seems to fly by in retrospect, but 2013 is going to be a good year for Beautiful Demise. We really would like to thank everyone who continues to support the BD Brand. There really wouldn’t be as much traction and excitement surrounding our process and products without the continued support of our friends, fans, and families. Much thanks from the BD crew. In the mean time, we wish everyone a healthy and gargantuas 2013.

Bikes, Beers, & Cheese

I had the opportunity to visit Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the surrounding area a few weeks ago and had a great time. Despite being from the south and not really being very prepared to handle the cold weather, it ended up actually being quite nice. A few things that you can’t miss out on when you are in the Milwaukee area are local brews, local cheese, and of course Ray’s Indoor Bike Park. Ray’s Indoor Bike park has a Cleveland, Ohio location as well as a Milwaukee, Wisconsin spot. I’ve been to the Cleveland spot several times, but this was my first visit to Ray’s in Milwaukee. Needless to say, this place is just way too much fun. I took several pictures with my phone and a few of them I laced together in photoshop, so there may be a few things that are slightly off-kilter, but I wanted to show the size of some of the bike park. The only thing that I was a little bummed about was the fact that I forgot to bring any Beautiful Demise stickers with me to throw up around the park. Not to worry though, I’m sure I’ll be back to Ray’s in Milwaukee again.

Bodhi Tshirt

Checkout the latest release from Beautiful Demise, the Bodhi tshirt, which is available now in our online shop. Since our Johnny Utah tshirt is one of our popular items, we have had several requests to design and print a Bodhi tshirt. For anyone that happened to be living under a rock during the early ’90s, Johnny Utah and Bodhi are the main characters of the cult classic movie called Point Break. I love the fact that I’ll be out-and-about wearing our Johnny Utah tshirt and someone in their mid 50′s will say something like, “Man, I love that movie. Great Shirt.” It’s nice to know that cheesy action movies span multiple generations. Enjoy a few pics of the latest additon to the shop and get a dose of 100% pure adrenaline! That last bit is a Bodhi quote for anyone that hasn’t seen the movie 20+ times.

Threadless Chicago

I was in Chicago for 2 days this past week and finally found time to go stop by the Threadless retail store. For anyone that doesn’t know, Threadless is an online community that votes on user submitted graphic designs that get printed on various items such as tshirts, scarfs, hoodies, etc. Threadless has been around for over 10 years and is a pretty kick-ass company. They use items made in the USA whenever possible and source all their screen printing locally in the Greater Chicago area. Threadless is definitely one of the companies that I’ve personally gotten a lot of inspiration from and look forward to seeing how their company evolves and incorporates new items and opportunities for creative professionals around the world. I snapped a few pics of their Chicago retail store with my phone.

Birmingham Michigan

Last week I had the opportunity to stop and take a stroll through downtown Birmingham, Michigan. I asked a few locals where a good place was to grab some dinner and everyone mentioned Birmingham. Birmingham is a suburb of Detroit and attracts locals for its quaint downtown atmosphere and good eats. While I was strolling around town I happened to come across a pretty cool streetwear retailer called “DBL-UP”. Some of the brands they were carrying included San Fransisco based brand HUF, Los Angeles based brand Diamond Supply Co, as well as NYC brand Mishka Clothing. They had some throwback Reebook pumps that were pretty ridiculous and I would have worn in a heartbeat when I was playing basketball regularly. In any event, keep your eyes peeled for Beautiful Demise’s new season release that will be available in 2 weeks online and at our shop at 215 W. Antrim Dr, Greenville SC, 29607.
