I think most creative professionals, regardless of industry, are always on the lookout for what Tenacious D coined as “The Search for Inspirado.” Inspirado, more commonly known as inspiration, comes in many forms. Painting, Music, Architecture, and the countless other areas that promote so-called creative lifestyles are abound in this world. The bottom line is that you should do something that inspires you. I know everyone can’t just go out and quit their day jobs and start doing what it is that they would rather be doing for a living, but you can start small. Stay up an extra hour or two at night, or work through your lunch break to get some personal work done. While Beautiful Demise is still a very young Indie Clothing company, we started screen printing shirts in a dingy basement until we could afford to move into a proper Brick and Mortar shop. While having attended several art classes during college, one particular passage stands out from one of the art history books I was forced to read. From Leonardo da Vinci, “It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.”
